Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Your library is stored on your device. You control the photos you add and the backups you share.
Your library stays on your device
Personal Book Catalog is an Android app from JAGC Studio, published by JAGC TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
The app stores book titles, authors, personal notes, reading status, favorites, room, shelf and box locations, and selected cover photos in private storage on your device. It also saves unfinished edits and two recovery snapshots to help recover from interrupted saves.
The app has no app account, app server or analytics service. It does not send your library or photos to us. Your library works offline; the app uses the network only to show ads.
Photos and text reading
You choose when to take or select a photo. The app uses the device camera application or system photo picker. It does not request broad access to your photo library. A cover copy is resized and re-encoded before storage. This removes the original embedded photo metadata from that copy.
Optional English and Tamil text reading runs on your device using bundled software and language data. No cover is sent to an online recognition service. Text suggestions can be wrong. You decide which suggestions to use.
The system camera, photo picker and other applications have their own behavior and privacy policies.
Advertising
The app shows a banner ad at the top of the screen. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC.
To show and measure ads, Google's ad software in the app receives information from your device, such as the advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your books, notes, locations and cover photos are not given to the ad service.
In some regions, including the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app first asks for your choices about ads using Google's consent tool. Where available, you can change them later in Library care under Ad privacy options. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
Backups and sharing
The Android app is configured to exclude its private data from automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup. Device operating systems control how these settings are applied.
You can export a .bookbackup file with your books, notes, locations and cover photos. This file is not encrypted. The app shows a warning before opening device save or share options. If you select a cloud service or another person, that destination receives the file under its own terms.
A temporary export copy stays in the app cache until cleanup is attempted at the next launch. The app shows a warning if cleanup fails. We cannot recall exported files or remove copies from other devices or services.
Keeping and deleting information
Editing or deleting a book changes your visible library. Older recovery snapshots, temporary photos and unused cover files can remain in app storage.
To remove the app’s private data, clear its storage in Android settings or uninstall it. This is subject to operating-system behavior. Backups saved elsewhere are separate. Delete them from each destination if you no longer need them.
The app does not add its own storage encryption or guarantee secure erasure. Protect access to your device and backup files. There is no app account to delete.
Contact and policy changes
For privacy questions, contact support@jagc.in. If you email us, your email service sends your address and message to us. Do not include your library or backup files unless you intend to share them for support.
We will update this policy if the app’s information handling changes. This policy describes the Android app.
